Scotland’s Picturesque Villages and Towns with Dr. Irene Mariani
Irene specialised in Italian Renaissance Art and her doctoral thesis looked at the artistic patronage of the Vespucci family in fifteenth-century Florence. She was an intern at the Queen's Gallery at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and collaborated with the Education Department of the National Galleries of Scotland. Irene currently teaches History of Art at the University of Edinburgh. Edinburgh stole her heart and it is now her second home.

I am thinking of traveling to Scotland soon and this seminar could not have done a better job of giving me a good overview of what there is to see and do there. I came away with a good idea of what I want to do and see but also how many days we will need to take it all in. Dr. Irene Mariani's organization of the material was perfect as she transitioned from region to region using a map each time to show us where she was transitioning to next. Her photographs are excellent and inspired me to even more of a desire to beautiful Scotland. Thank you for this great overview.

Very well organized and filled with great stories. Just like being there.
Great presentation, lots of interesting detail. Dr Mariani is knowledgable, never gets boring and makes the places she talks about come alive.
Scotland, of course, is absolutely beautiful, but Dr. Mariani has such enthusiasm and love for these places that they just come alive during her tours. I cannot wait to visit a couple of these villages introduced in this tour.
