Dr. Hirsh gave an outstanding talk comparing two artists from the Impressionist period. One who did not want to show his work in the Impresdionists shows and the other who tried to get him to participate. It was an interesting viewpoint and I especially liked how she looked at how they were alike and different. Manet died young while Degas lived many years after so it did make it interesting to see how their same focuses differed. Degas’ women bathing were much more intimate than Manet’s and I have to admit that I had not been aware of the differences.
Very comprehensive; felt like I was at the exhibit with my personal expert
