Join us for a jam-packed journey around the island of Ireland, focusing on what each unique county has to offer – their highlights, quirks, and unique destinations of interest. We will begin our journey out of Dublin heading north through the Ancient East, up to the far northern coast where the Giants Causeway stands stopping to briefly highlight the best of Belfast.

From the politics of Derry through to the remoteness of Donegal we will begin to explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Delve into the magic of Mayo, the literature of Sligo, the awe-inspiring landscape of Connemara arriving finally in the cultural capital of Galway. Descending south through the barren landscape of the Burren and The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare whilst briefly touching on the mouth of the great river Shannon at Limerick.

Traveling further south we will uncover all the lakes and mountains of Kerry and Cork, the quaint and hip can be found both in the city and the countryside. Our final counties bask in ‘W’: Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow. With glacial lakes, sunny strawberries, exceptional lighthouses, the sunny southeast has plenty to offer before we finally re-emerge on Dublin’s Coast.

Led by an archaeologist, anthropologist, and lover of stories, Jennifer Carbery, this interactive seminar will explore Ireland at a glance, traveling from north to south and east to west. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an insight into all that Ireland has to offer; its landscape, history, culture, and folklore of some of Ireland’s most magical destinations, towns, and villages.

Jennifer works with historical research around Ireland's complex history. She studied Anthropology and History as a mature student and upon completion she worked in Archaeology; digging the land for treasure. She has her own business providing research and content for historic sites, events, and radio. She teaches, assesses, and trains students, guides, and learners in history. She has written several apps for tours within Ireland.

An excellent presentation that included tons of information that didn't feel rushed and will be most helpful in planning my trip to Ireland fall 2022, especially now that I found our I'm 33% Irish! The handout that came after the presentation was exceptional comprehensive and extraordinarily helpful.

Ms. Carbery is obviously a very stimulating and knowledgeable professional-in helping us discover all that Ireland has to offer. I would suggest to her for future similar conferences to focus on some highlights of Ireland rather than doing a superficial overview of all of Ireland- which does not give us as much the flavour of the cultural, architectural , natural beauty of Ireland.
