from 22401 reviewsDr. Hirsh gave an informative and interesting Seminar on The Harlem Renaissance and Transatlantic Modernism. Her course provided so much information that was new to me as a beginner student in Art History. Since I won’t be in NYC to see the exhibit this was best solution. I was inspired to learn more and take her next Seminar on 3/25. Thank you Dr.Hirsh!
Very thorough and as always educational
This is an excellent tour through one of Florence’s most interesting neighborhoods. I highly recommend this lecture.
Love his knowledge and enthusiasm! At my age I doubt I will be able to visit the Louvre again, and these presentations showing me what I missed during my visits there are excellent! Plus the history lesson I receive from Dr Durand is top-notch! Well done!
Dr. Fleischer has an enjoyable and efficient way of presenting the history and personality of great artists. She's up to her usual high standards in this review of the Frans Hals exhibit and you come away with a real feeling for the artist and his work.
I really enjoyed this 2-part course, it epitomized what Context is all about: Offering a deeper exploration of places you thought you knew, bringing out secrets only an expert - or generous local - would know. This course had many excellent and well-chosen points to make..
Were Charles Dickens still with us, he would have been thrilled to hear Prof. Luzzi’s genuinely laudatory comments about “DC”. Barbara Kingsolver IS still with us, and she must be ‘crowing’ to know that Prof. Luzzi holds her book in the deepest regard.
Dr. Luzzi gave a most interesting talk about Kingsolvers Demon Copperhead and David Copperfield. I will now finish Demon Copperhead since hearing his talk

Rose’s lecture is a great primer on understanding the origins and evolution of Renaissance art. Rose was engaging and clear! Looking forward to other lectures by her.
Dr. Bell gave us information that we never get in conventional histories of the Revolution. A wonderful talk that painted a picture of how hard it was for people who did not want to break from 'great Britan
I watched this one as well as the entire History Mondays series done by Dr. Bell. His intelligence, experience, sensitivity to difficult historical and cultural issues makes these seminars absolutely wonderful as well as educational and entertaining. So sorry to see Context Learning stop with these seminars. They have been truly amazing with Dr. Bell and other presenters.
With a trip planned for next August, Tiago's talk clearly and precisely makes the point of how the Highlights tell the history of Portugal.
Now I want to see part 1. Sad to miss it. I really appreciate how well it was organized and his size comparison to an American football field since acres mean nothing to me!
