Via the vivid descriptions and explanatory visuals, Dr. Norton led viewers through the 1500-1600s streets and areas of London. The YouTube video at the beginning was fascinating; one could imagine walking through those streets back then. In this seminar, I learned a lot about how the structures and streets evolved and how the River Thames impacted the growth and expansion of the city. The behind-the-scenes look at the government, trade efforts, and major imports/exports all provided the elaboration needed to understand the history better. To close, a summary of what remains from the Tudor days post Great Fire of 1666 were discussed. A well-rounded presentation!

In addition to Dr. Norton’s insights and references, she shared a beautiful video that made Tudor England truly come alive.
I have taken all of Dr. Elizabeth Norton's seminars, and she never disappoints. Her lectures are fascinating and well-researched. I've done a lot of reading about that time in history, but there are so many intriguing side stories and bits of history that I never knew.
