Event Details:
Musee du Louvre was established during the French Revolution in order to safeguard works of art – its curators presented the collections of the Kings of France, as well as art rescued from churches and aristocratic homes, and it has been growing ever since from private donations. Some of these masterpieces have become pop culture icons, like the smile of Mona Lisa or the armless Venus de Milo, others surprise you when you round a corner. Together we will delve into the history of the works – the techniques, the artists, and the patrons.
About Your Expert:
The daughter of a sculptor, Marie has been surrounded by art ever since she was born. A native Parisienne, she holds an undergraduate degree in history and art history, with a specialty in iconography and French and Flemish paintings from the 16th to the 18th centuries. She also holds a Master's degree in museology from the Ecole du Louvre and one in Art History from the Sorbonne.

It was excellent. Enough so that my wife booked a day tour with Marie when we're in Paris this summer.
Great information and insight on a selection of the art at the Louvre. I wished it was longer.
Very good ... I plan o visiting Paris next year and needed another overview of that museum
Absolutely wonderful. She provided details I had never known about several art works. Her knowledge about the history of Paris, France etc is remarkable. Please have her give more lectures, she is one of the best I’ve ever had.
This is the third video presentation that I participated in with Marie as the presenter. Marie was also the tour guide at the Louvre for myself, my wife, our son and daughter-in-law, and their two daughters. Marie has amazing insights into how and why each piece of art was done, and about the history of the times when each piece was created. She offers something you could never get on your own, the benefit from her years of study and her love of art.
