Have you ever heard of the Long Island Hitlers? In this lecture, we'll be examining Adolf Hitler's family tree: the curious tale of half-brother Alois and his Irish wife; half-sibling Paula who defended Adolf's memory to the end; the Liverpudlian chancer William Patrick Hitler and his American-born sons; and a many more beyond that. We'll also be taking a look at the rumours of Hitler's Jewish ancestry, and at his relationship with abusive father Alois Sr. and doting mother Klara, which informed American psychoanalyst Dr. Walter Langer in producing his 1944 report 'The Mind of Adolf Hitler.' Not to mention the tale of French railwayman Jean-Marie Loret, who was adamant that Adolf Hitler was his father.

Led by an expert on Third Reich history, Dr. Finn Ballard, this lecture will illuminate a murky yet fascinating chapter in Third Reich history. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an increased understanding of Hitler's background - and how his relatives handled their heritage.
