Banff National Park is Canada's first and most famous national park nestled in the spectacular sprawling Canadian Rockies. It’s certainly no surprise to see why. This seminar will give prospective visitors an idea of what’s on offer, when to visit, and how to get the most out of a trip there.

The raw beauty of Banff and the region is internationally famous and Canada’s mountain parks offer rare access to remote wilderness. With fewer than 30,000 permanent inhabitants spread over an area roughly the size of Massachusetts, the Canadian parks welcome over five million visitors a year.

This introductory seminar will explore Banff in detail, sharing highlights from all over the park, in all seasons of the year. In addition to better-known locations, we will also stray off the beaten path to some spots to enhance any trip to the Canadian Rockies.

Led by a Banff resident, international guide, and author, Patrick Twomey, this interactive seminar will introduce participants to the magic of the Canadian Rockies. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away confident of any future trip to Banff.

Based in Banff, Canada’s first and most famous National Park, Patrick Twomey is an international guide, tour leader and published author. Having studied history, economics and development, Patrick has lived, worked and guided in more than 40 countries. In Canada, he has lead more than 100 tours and has written two editions of ‘Working and Living in Canada’ (as well as a guide to skiing in Canada). Patrick is a proud father and an avid outdoors person. During days off, he skis, bikes, climbs and hikes. Patrick maintains a travel blog and speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
