This was a grim and depressing subject matter, but it was very interesting and enlightening. Vadim put the whole subject in context with respect to the Soviet Union's history and with respect to its continuing impact on Russia today. Very informative and well-presented.

Malinovsky provided animated and thorough insight into this tragic era of Soviet history from Stalin's rise to power through the Stalin era and the sweeping results of his cruelly repressive measures, with an ominous warning that Stalin's memory has seen rising approval ratings within Russia in recent years.
