Soviet secret police (known as KGB), officially was founded in 1953, but it leads its history from the times of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. It was the most powerful organization that arrested and executed millions of people, sent to GULAG millions of Soviet citizens, and "relocated" entire ethnic groups.

These men were responsible for foreign intelligence, domestic counterintelligence, technical intelligence, protection of the political leadership, and the security of the country’s frontiers. KGB became one of the world’s largest foreign intelligence services. During this seminar, we will talk about the history of this organization and how it was changing with the new leaders in the country.
