The presentation included information about a variety of sights in Naples. It was interesting to hear from the perspective of someone who lives there.
I have travelled extensively to Northern Italy, but have always been intrigued by the south, especially gritty Naples. I have a profound interest in art, especially sculpture, having once travelled with an artist friend to select marble out of Carrara. Fiorella's "hands on" perspective of Naples provided a fascinating, yet straight-forward perspective of what a visitor to Naples might expect. She pointed out special places perhaps overlooked by tourists just looking to have pizza and a cannoli. What was especially rewarding was her knowledge of the art works she shared with us and how she tied it in to its importance to the community of Naples.
I loved this tour. And I learned a tremendous amount. It was a pleasure and very interesting. Thank you
An excellent, insightful highlight of Naples, its history, fabulous art, food, & its population.
This was a terrific virtual tour and overview of the history of Naples from its founding as a Greek city to the modern metropolis. Very informative about the people, culture, food, architecture, with fabulous photos of the antiquities and the breathtaking Bay of Naples. I took a trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum in 2001, but stayed in Sorrento and only traversed Naples on the way to the train station. That didn’t count. A trip will be planned when we and they are all opened up again. Fiorella Squillante did her home town proud! I thank her and look forward to other lectures she gives.
