A native of San Diego, Gil graduated in Politics and English from Brandeis University and later earned two Master's degrees: the first in Public Administration from New York University, and the second a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. After earning his MFA and producing his first book, Gil moved to Paris for a Parisienne and hasn't looked back. For over a decade Gil has lived, written, worked, and led tours in Paris. His background in literature - both canonized and contemporary - combined with his understanding of the inner workings of cities have enabled Gil to tell his narratives as experiences and provide unique insights into Parisian life.

Gil did a great job with his tour of Montmartre ! We have been to Paris many times and Gil gave us new & thought provoking information
Gil is a great guide. Very knowledgeable, personable and enthusiastic.
The tour of Montmartre with Gil Stoltz was so enjoyable. I found it so useful to have the maps to orient us to the area being discussed. I enjoyed the historical context he provided about the early contstrucion of Paris and the historical significance of the areas he walked through. It was great that he showed the street signs along the way. He is so knowledgeable and is able to package a wealth of information in such a short time, yet it did not feel rushed. It was informative and so well organized. I highly recommend this tour with Gil.
Gil has somehow mastered the art of walking, filming, talking and fielding questions at the same time. His knowledge of French history and culture is extensive and delivered in an engaging and informative manner. Gil's tours are a delightful way to virtually explore Paris.
I've done several Context Tour presentations but this was my first virtual tour and it really adds another dimension to the experience. Until we can actually travel safely, this is a great alternative. Gil Soltz's enthusiasm for Paris adds to experience. Great way to spend a rainy day!!
