Join a local historian broadcasting live from the streets of Milan, Italy. Together we will visit highlight sites such as the Piazza del Duomo and Teatro alla Scala as we gain an orientation to this remarkable city. The video-camera-led virtual tour will weave and wind its way through many more of Milan’s iconic landmarks, offering opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and an immersive visual experience.
Beginning from the city’s foundation in 1899, we will explore the major movements and icons which shaped the city while we actively stroll through its historic district. Starting from the Piazza del Duomo, we will take a look at the exterior of the city’s iconic Cathedral and discuss its historical legacy.
From there, we will stroll by the elegant boutiques on Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II as we explore the Brera district and its famous Art Gallery. We will conclude with a walk through the imposing courtyards of the Renaissance Sforza Castle and relax to answer questions in the Sempione Garden.
Led by an expert on art and history, Laura Benitti, this interactive live tour will allow you to discover and experience the most iconic landmarks of the city. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with increased knowledge about the highlights of the city and feel better prepared for their own in-person experience.
About Your Expert
Laura was born in Turin, where she studied history of art, but moved to Milan in 2002. Since her graduation, she has accumulated a long experience as an art consultant and registrar in a few museums in Turin, as well as expertise as a local Milan guide. She loves to be both an experienced and friendly local ambassador of Milan and Como area for her travelers.
