This lecture, together with the two on the battles of Crecy and Poitiers, provided a fascinating account of the major battles of the 100 Years War, and how they unexpectedly came to be such overwhelming victories for the English. Dr. Rogers thoroughly covered the historical context of the battles and the larger war, as well as the particulars of how battles were fought by the English and the French at this time. It was especially interesting to discover how relevant some of the strategic planning and execution were to that of the present day. A rich collection of images and maps added much to bring it all to life.
I had previously read books that included descriptions of the Battle of Agincourt, but Dr Rogers’s lecture/discussion made it come alive for me.
Dr. Roger's presents a compelling story of the events leading up to the battle, the battle itself, & its impact.
