Join us for a live broadcast from the beautiful town of Como, Italy.

Como has 85,000 year-round residents and is an adorable medieval city. Together we will enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town’s historic center, surrounded by ancient walls and gates and embellished with magnificent squares and churches – such as its cathedral, which was commissioned in the 14th century.

During our time together we will enjoy a stroll along the ‘lungolago’ (along the lake) promenade. This walkway boasts an amazing fusion of history, gardens, cuisine, and luxurious villas that participants will be able to fully appreciate during their future visits to the region. There will be time during the seminar to ask trip-planning questions of our expert.

Led by an expert on art and history, Laura Benetti, this conversation will be dedicated to the highlights of the city center of Como city and its lakefront promenade. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with increased knowledge about the main city of the province of Como, – the perfect base from which to begin a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the other small towns and villas which surround this famous lake once travel resumes.

Laura was born in Turin, where she studied history of art, but moved to Milan in 2002. Since her graduation, she has accumulated a long experience as an art consultant and registrar in a few museums in Turin, as well as expertise as a local Milan guide. She loves to be both an experienced and friendly local ambassador of Milan and Como area for her travelers.

This conversation is suitable for all ages.

90 minutes, including a 30 minute Q&A.

Admirable & Ambitious Attempt

Compared to other superb live Context walks (Paris, Prague, Machu Picchu, Venice, Florence, Rome), this experience was frustrating and disappointing. Mostly the connectivity around the lake and even city center prevented us from really seeing the beauty. The technical problems also threw Laura off balance, so her commentary was less graceful. Probably worth trying again.

I'm afraid I found the choppy video very distracting from the quality of the presentation and would have preferred it be postponed until the video feed could have been better. Other than that, it was nice to see Como where I spent time in 2012...

Horrible talk

The worst Context virtual walk I have attended. Why? 1) Camera was very shaky, 2) the panning was fast and shaky, 3) audio was almost non-existent and garbled, 4) hate to say it, but her accent was hard to understand.
