Tiago Miranda Neiva was born and raised in Lisbon. He studied architecture in Rome and worked later in distinct offices in Portugal and Spain. For several years he was Professor of Arts and Art History, having a Master's degree in Teaching of Visual Arts. He is currently working towards a PhD focused on the Art and Architecture of al-Andalus: the confluence between the Arab, Jewish and Christian medieval world. In recent years he has been working as a tour guide in his hometown, seeking to show and reveal its most intimate secrets through an authentic and passionate local vision.

Tiago does a great job w his seminars. He brings so much detail in history and culture but in a way that is not overwhelming.
Mr. Tiago Nieve was so animated and genuinely excited to share the rarely acknowledged long and important history of Jewish culture and industry in Lisbon and beyond, I was drawn by his manner of expression and knowledge. As an American traveler, I’ve been to Portugal three times, but this part of history was never referred to. I knew it was there, bht didn’t know where to look…I do now. I’m grateful for newly learned facts, perspective, and knowledge.
I have spent time on my own informally researching the history of the Jews in Portugal. I still learned a tremendous amount of information from this lecture and look forward to the 2nd installment.
Again, another wonderful experience from Professor Neiva!!!! Just brilliant!!!!
A concise and interesting presentation of the subject, with outstanding visual material. Tiago Neiva's talk is smooth and enthusiastic (no hesitations, ums or ahs) -- you feel like he is talking with you rather than dry lecturing. He piqued my interest to learn more on the subject, especially interesting to me as my paternal ancestry is of Sephardic origins, via Portugal. Neiva is an engaging speaker with good knowledge of his subject, entertaining and informative.
