Richmond offered an informative presentation that targeted practical information for first-time travelers to Japan.
Another excellent seminar by Simon Richmond. A comprehensive, well-organized, well-oriented, digestible and charming approach not just to trip-planning but to planning the trip to Japan that best suits you. A really good foundation.
It was a nice overview of the variety of different ways to spend time in Japan. I really appreciated the insider tips from someone who's spent so much time there during what seems like all of the seasons.
Simon did a great job of conveying how varied & lovely Japan is. For real first-timers like us, however, it was pretty overwhelming. Speaking as a teacher, I think it would have worked better to organize the sites by types of things to do or provide a couple of “typical” itineraries for people who want history & nature or contemporary art & pop culture.
