Learn the essentials that will take the stress out of planning any trip to Canada, including where to go, when to go, and what not to miss in the world’s second-largest country. Come discover the historical, geographical, and historical mosaic that is Canada.

Canada, also known as ‘The Great White North’ is as much a concept as an actual country. Home to fewer than 38 million people, Canada is the second-largest country on earth. The overwhelming majority of Canadians live in the country’s far south, but should the country have a soul, it certainly lurks in the polar north. As a political jurisdiction, Canada has the world’s longest coastline with Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic shores.

During this introductory survey, we will visit Canada’s ten provinces and three territories learning of some of the top destinations to add to any bucket list. We will discuss both official languages and the first inhabitants who migrated to the region over thousands of years. We’ll learn how much of Canada’s history is defined by water as we visit its mainy aqua-based destinations. We’ll discuss everything from its colonial roots to immigration to its diverse confederation we know of today in modern Canada.

Led by a local expert based in Banff National Park, this interactive seminar will introduce participants to the splendor on offer in Canada and answer any, if not all, of your Canadian travel queries. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away confident of a successful adventure in the Great White North.

Quick Look at Canada with Patrick Twomey

Going into this Conversation, my concern was that topic was too broad. That, in fact, proved to be true. It is impossible to address diverse, huge country in one short session. Additionally, too much time was spent on non-travel topics. I really did not come away with any useful trip planning information.

Patrick Twomey's style and / or audio set-up made it difficult to understand some things he said.
