We will start this Conversation by setting the holiday tone, from visiting marchés de noël (Christmas markets) to seeing how the French decorate for the holidays, both in spaces and at home. As a gastronomically focused country, specialty food products play a central role in festive celebrations. We will discuss these mouth-watering delicacies, explore regional differences and design our own French holiday menu. However, the holiday season does not end at Christmas. The festivities continue with New Year’s Eve, also celebrated à la française, and culminate with Epiphany, on January 6th, commemorated with different regional specialties.
Led by Paris-based travel writer Lily Heise, this interactive discussion will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the various facets which distinguish French holiday traditions. Designed to inform curiosity, future travels, or inspire you to add a French touch to your own holiday season, thanks to our specially designed French holiday menu and tips we will be giving throughout the Conversation.
