Livia obtained a degree in Archaeology at the Sapienza University of Rome and has a Master's degree in the History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Roma Tre. Her main field of interest is ancient Roman topography and early Christian architecture; however, she is an accomplished scholar whose teaching ability extends to the Renaissance and Baroque Rome. As a native Roman, Livia is very enthusiastic about sharing the deep love and knowledge she has for her hometown with clients.

Livia always knocks it out of the park with her seminars, which are superbly organized and accompanied by stunning and very helpful visuals. She made history come alive as she explained the significance of the extensive ruins found at the ENPAM building in central Rome when they began excavating for an underground parking garage.

What makes Dr. Galante's seminars so rich is the way she contextualizes the subject. In this seminar she first explained the remarkable discovery of Caligula's Garden, then she stepped back to explain what the gardens of elites were like during the Roman Empire, next she talked about facets of everyday life in Caligula's villa and gardens, and then circled back to the rescue archeology that was conducted at this site over the past 20 years. This deeper dive into the history as well as into what we learn from archeology is very compelling. As always, her passion and enthusiasm kept me on the edge of my seat. Lastly, her slides are terrific.
Livia never fails to deliver solid information that is fully on-topic. But, as well and what makes her lectures the best of all I attend are the host of surprises, the assortment of stories, but tidbits of of insider information, the genius illustrations, which all together create a superb hour and a half of shared learning.
Livia is a wonderful speaker! Her research and knowledge of Rome are exceptional and her talks are well illustrated, informative and engaging. With Caligula's Garden she showed recent archaeology and discussed how Caligula has been viewed in history. Beautifully done!
