Join a local expert, live from Banff National Park, as they allow participants to see firsthand the sites and natural splendor through this camera-held virtual tour.

Canada's first and most famous national park is internationally renowned for its beauty. Once an ancient sea bed, the Rockies were thrust up and east through plate tectonics and then sculpted by glaciers. The region's history stretches back over 11,000 years with Europeans gradually arriving and settling as Canada became a dominion. As we learn more about the history of this region, the video-camera-led virtual tour will weave and wind its way through this inspiring destination creating opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and an immersive visual experience.

Led by a Banff resident, international guide, and author, Patrick Twomey, this interactive seminar will introduce participants to the wonders of Banff National Park. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with a snapshot into the Canadian landscape.

Based in Banff, Canada’s first and most famous National Park, Patrick Twomey is an international guide, tour leader and published author. Having studied history, economics and development, Patrick has lived, worked and guided in more than 40 countries. In Canada, he has lead more than 100 tours and has written two editions of ‘Working and Living in Canada’ (as well as a guide to skiing in Canada). Patrick is a proud father and an avid outdoors person. During days off, he skis, bikes, climbs and hikes. Patrick maintains a travel blog and speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.

Saturday in the Park with Patrick

This excellent live walk with Patrick took me back virtually to one of my favorite places on the planet. Patrick is an exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced guide, with a refreshingly down-to-earth way of communicating with us, even through Zoom. He is exactly the guide I hope to secure when I return to Banff in person, even though he is so athletic, active, and ambitious that I will have to ramp up my training first. Until then, I hope Patrick will lead more virtual adventures for us.

A Virtual Walk in banff national Park.

Patrick gave an excellent virtual presentation as he walked. He described history, geology, environmentalism, etc. Now, if only we would be able to ride the Rocky Mountaineer.

Nice quick walk

Good commentary with a lot of background. We've been to Banff a couple of times. This talk added some info that we had no idea of.
