I was transported to the Louvre for 1-1/2 hours this week, learning from an expert passionate about history and art. I so appreciated her providing historic background on the building of the Louvre and its changing configurations over time as well as her insights into some of her most beloved sculptures and paintings. It was very close to being on an actual Context Walk, which always deepens and enriches any travel experience.

Treasures of the Louvre Museum is a wonderful lecture with Marie Dessaillen. She is very knowledgeable on the subject matter and knew the answers to questions asked of her. She communicates well and gave wonderful historical background as well as shedding interesting information on the paintings and sculptures she chose to share with her audience. Well worth the time.
Meet Your Guide to the Louvre Museum
The daughter of a sculptor, Marie has been surrounded by art ever since she was born. A native Parisienne, she holds an undergraduate degree in history and art history, with a specialty in iconography and French and Flemish paintings from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
She also holds a Master's degree in museology from the Ecole du Louvre and one in Art History from the Sorbonne.
Marie has been leading Context tours in Paris since 2010.
