Who are we?
Context Travel was founded in 2003 by an American expat couple in Rome on the premise that learning is the best way to travel, and that local experts are best equipped to lead that learning.
What started as a word-of-mouth, mom-and-pop tour operator, slowly grew throughout every cultural capital around the world and then continued to branch out into the digital sphere with Context Learning.
forging new paths
Inspiring Curious Minds
In 2020, we began bringing our experiences digital as a way to deepen connection and raise donations for our experts. Immediately, people raved that our expert-led, online learning was just as good as the tours they'd been on – and in some cases, even better.
Since then, we’ve offered hundreds of seminars and courses, inspiring many to see the majestic island of Crete, create an Italian arancini steeped in history, or travel to the past through other legendary topics.

Dr. Lelik's presentation was thought-provoking, well-researched, and well-organized. She was generous with her time in answering questions.
As usual Sabry delivers an amazing talk about art in a novel (for me) setting. Wonderful to realize that a trip to London could also include these destinations.
Not only did I come away with great recipes along with the insights of a master baker, chef, memoirist, and blogger, I had a very enjoyable time and can't wait to dig into the recipes. David, you're great on your own in the kitchen or as an interviewer! So glad you've invited Romain into the kitchen.
Not just suffering but a love of live. Bacon is amazing and Timea helps discover him and his works
Very insightful overview of Francis Bacon and his work.
Historian Vadim Malinovsky expertly connects economic and political events in Russia to explain Putin's persistence and the current situation. This course is a "best of the best," and a rare chance for those of us in the West to learn from a Russian with both academic knowledge and first-hand experience living in Putin's Russia, who does not support Putin's war. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed the talk. Peter Medhurst is very knowledgable both about Soho and music. He talks in a relaxed and amusing way.

Sabry Amroussi showed us dazzling art collections in 3 country houses in Britain, and characterized the collectors in a useful way. Pointing out that such collections, becoming consciously shaped and developing patrons and leisured spectators, were the birth of the museum, he had us fascinated once again.
Dr. Norton again clarified the Tudor history while focusing on Mary, Queen of the Scots. Understanding the family tree made sense.
I have visited Notre Dame and Ste Chapelle and admire the beauty so this topic caught my interest. I think the theme of kingship being exalted through Gothic style does make sense. I really enjoyed seeing these buildings through a new angle.
This was a fantastic dive into British Country Houses and their art. You always learn new things about history and art with Sabry.
We visit England’s countryside to discover marvels
Sabry’s knowledge comes thru his passion narrating, speaking about the painters, the periods… very impressive. I loved it.
