Sabray is full of passion and knowledge in his presentation of the Stedelijk museum. I am amazed by the number of American artists that are included, and a number of artists that have little recognition but are good.
Loved this course!
Extremely informative.
I loved it, it got me super excited about the trip and I felt I was with someone I trusted. You can't get that from a book. He knew his stuff, yes but was also local so it was personal. AWESOME
It. was fabulous. He is an incredible instructor!!!
Dr. Wieda, This is for all 5 countries. Fascinating. So interesting. These places have so much history but it was a surprise and a delight to have you, after the historic discussion, introduce them as they are today. I highly recommend all 5 courses. Thank you Dr. Wieda!
This is the most interesting historical review that I have the opportunity to see. The thought that this city lies within other interesting Historical areas is absolutely fascinating. We will be in the area in September of this year and expect to visit Mantua.
This story is a celebration of a family’s determination and success in creating better lives for an entire peasant community in Tuscany and protecting them during WWII. It is also a story of renewing barren land and creating great beauty. My thanks to Kate Bolton-Borciatti for bringing us this!
Kate did a great job of giving context to an unusual pace and story in a part of Tuscany not as well known as perhaps it should be!
All of Dr Wieda's context conversations are outstanding. Combining history with current cultural events makes everything so alive and relevant. Can't recommend enough.
This was such a beautiful presentation of a really remarkable story. I'd never heard of Iris Origo before but now I must read her books and see the Villa La Foce. I like the little videos that Kate Bolton-Porciatti has made - you feel almost like you're there.
Kate’s presentations are always excellent. La Foce was exceptional. I’ve stayed there twice and loved revisiting it. Her videos and interviews with Iris Origo’s granddaughter were wonderful.
The presentation was excellent. We have been to LaFoce several times and read several of Iris Origo's books. With that background we still learned more from this excellent presentation
One of the many things I appreciate about this seminar is that I have begun to see trends and characteristics in the works of the artists that I can trace back to previous seminars by Dr. Steer. I have been to many museums and cathedrals in Italy and have appreciated the art only aesthetically. It makes SUCH a difference to have background and history and information about the artists, their works, and the cities. I want to see these in person with a much broader perspective, thanks to Dr. Susan Steer. Thank you for this seminar.
