A trip to Spain would be incomplete without a visit to the Royal Alcázar, nestled in the historic city center of Seville. The charming gardens and magnificent architecture of this UNESCO World Heritage site draw millions of visitors annually. Join a local expert as we virtually explore this Alcázar’s historical context and take a closer look at its breathtaking gardens, fountains, pavilions, and galleries.

During our time together, we will journey back in time to experience the evolution of this glamorous palace compound, from the Roman Empire to the present day. We will trace the steps of its architects and its Royal occupants.

Led by an expert on Architecture and Art History, Tiago Miranda Neiva, this interactive seminar will teach us the history, evolution, and many construction phases of the Alcázar of Seville. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away from our conversation with a deeper knowledge of the Royal Alcázar and the Islamic-Christian power balance in Seville.

Andalusia with Tiago Neiva

Tiago has an amazing eye for detail and a wealth of knowledge that is exceptional. Seville is my second lecture in the series starting with Cordoba, and I can’t wait for his tour of the Alhambra

Royal Alcazar

Mr Neiva successfully married the history of Iberia with the history of the building. Absolutely wonderful!

Can't wait to see it in person! I'm ready now!

I really enjoyed the presentation and I learned a lot. I'm going to Spain in two weeks for the first time since 2017. At the end of my trip I'll be visiting Sevilla, which I last saw in 2012. But during that trip I did not get to the Alcazar, so that's what I'm going to focus on this time. Tiago Neiva gave us the history of the complex, the architecture, what to see if we were to visit...The end was a bit rushed--easily we could have gone on for another 30 minutes plus time for questions. I like Tiago's approach which includes the historical, architectural and what to see today, with maps, photos and virtual renderings. Bravo!
