Join Guille Genestar live from Barcelona for a virtual tour of the most iconic building of Barcelona, the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí. This masterpiece is one of the seven UNESCO buildings created by Gaudí and the most fascinating destination in Barcelona.

Gaudí said, "people will come from all over the world to see it", and he was right. The world-famous (and as yet unfinished) Basilica was expected to be completed in 2026, the centennial of Gaudi’s death but, due to the pandemic, the deadline is delayed further. It took 140 years to complete 75% of the church but the countdown for the completion has started. Thanks to Gaudí's unusual working methods and his unique use of geometry inspired by nature, Gaudí left a road map for the current architects to complete his masterpiece.
This virtual tour of the cathedral will include many images to better understand and put in context Gaudi's background and career, the history of the construction, and the main parts of the church. Gaudí knew that it would take generations after him to complete it, which would leave their imprint: “I don’t want them to copy me”. You’ll see how a person of humble origins became an architect and a visionary “Renaissance” man: he was also a landscaper, interior designer, and structural engineer. During this virtual tour, you’ll understand why Gaudi is called the “God’s architect”, the incredible innovations that he developed a century ago, and why he was the first “organic” architect (“My master is the tree in front of my workshop”)His legacy is still admired by contemporary architects.
Led by the expert local guide and cultural communicator, Guille Genestar, this lecture will fill participants with the emotion of this magnificent and unique architectural wonder.

As good as being there!

My elderly mother and I enjoyed Guille Genestar‘s virtual tour of the exterior of La Sagrada Familia. In reality, we will never be able to travel to Barcelona together in person due to my mom’s age and walking disability, (plus the fact that we live so far away in Hawai’i). So this virtual tour was a Godsend and wonderful opportunity to experience La Sagrada Familia together.
Guille Genestar Is a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. He exuded warmth and hospitality. My mom and I learned so much from him.
We felt like we were actually following him around in Barcelona on a walking tour.
We highly recommend this virtual tour with Guille Genestar, and I will be looking for other virtual tours that he leads.
Highly recommend!

Excellent and informative

I liked the informality of the walking tour, listening, viewing and also people watching while listening to all the information. The guide was knowledgeable and easy to listen to.

La Sagrada is so special

It has been many years since I have been in Barcelona and I was absolutely blown away by the progress that had been made on Gaudi's masterpiece. Guille's walking video tour is the perfect way to see the entire structure as well as the individual facades, towers, and decorative elements. One can imagine through his excellent presentation exactly what is left to do. The videos sent out after the seminar add a special dimension. There is an incredible amount of information presented in this seminar.

Wonderful experience and illuminating

How great to see La Sagrada Familia, especially as it is unlikely that I will ever see it in person. I hope sometime to have the opportunity to see the interior.
