I believe Rachel knows more about Italian culture than native born Italians!
Well presented and fun history....thoroughly enjoyable! Rachel continues to do a great job!!
This was a wide ranging presentation on the Aperitivo tradition in all of Italy. Rachel's presentation skills, obvious knowledge of the subject, beautiful graphics and practical skills all weave together to deliver a highly enjoyable learning experience. Highly recommend joining her on any of her tastings. Information is provided prior so that you can taste along with her and the group giving it a more personal feeling than any other virtual presentation.
Rachel Erdman's "The Italian Aperitivo: From Classic Vermouth to the Modern Spritz" was a lot of fun as well as a good learning experience. I enjoyed how Rachel wove in local trends in terms of not only specific drinks but also habits and traditions (an aperitivo on a canoe in Torino, for example!). Rachel always gives a little local history for each site, which helps listeners understand the subtle but important differences between different Italian regions. Who knew there was something to drink called a "bicicletta"! It's always a treat to learn with Rachel, and I look forward to her talk on the Piedmont soon!
I found this Conversation with Rachel so well done. It was interesting and it was informative. It was a good idea to see the cocktail being made as she spoke about the ingredients.
