Sometimes it’s the people behind the scenes that make all the difference. Together we will meet colorful characters including Gertrude Stein, Henry Kahnweiler, and Theo van Gogh as we experience the canon of Art History through the eyes of the people that sold it.

During our conversation, you will learn about the maverick art dealers that made and broke movements and careers: from Rembrandt’s 17th-century dealer Hendrick Uylenburgh, via the ‘maker of impressionism’ Paul Durand-Ruel, to today’s super dealer Larry Gagosian, this talk gives a behind the scenes look in the lives and careers of the movers and shakers of the art world.

Led by an art historian, with professional experience handling these collections, we will dive into the high-stakes deals which have shocked the art world and shaped the industry.

Art Dealers and their Influence

This was an intriguing and focused study of several art dealers whose relationships with artists influenced the course of art, and others canny enough to make millions all for themselves. Another excellent seminar by Mr. Amroussi.

Always great seminars by Sabry

I am always so amazed by Sabry’s knowledge of art history and his enthusiasm for his subjects. This was another great seminar - I learned so much about the business side of art and how it affected the ways in which s are it is sold today. Highly recommend!

How dealers helped create the Artists we know

Once again, Sabry pulls another great seminar out of the hat. So interesting to learn about the people who make "art" happen by supporting new artists and promoting their work.
