During his university studies at “La Sapienza” in Rome, Dimosthenis participated in several national and international projects, such as the study of Latin epigraphy and Roman pottery as well as various archaeological excavations in different areas of Rome (Roman Forum, Palatine, Mausoleum of Augustus). His work as an archaeologist brought him to carry out research in classical art and architecture, exploring in particular the relationship between iconography and architecture as ancient Greek and Roman artistic expressions. Dimosthenis completed his Ph.D. with a thesis on temple architecture in the Italian peninsula during the Republican period. This topic became his area of expertise. His knowledge of archaeology, ancient art history and Roman architecture is the key that he uses to share his unique perspective on the Eternal City.

90 minutes, including a 30 minute Q&A.
This was a fascinating, fact-filled presentation about the history, construction, use, and outcomes of Rome's various aqueducts and famous fountains (plus a few other sites of Roman origin). This was my first seminar with Dr Dimo K and I really enjoyed his style of presenting. The accompanying graphics, actual photos, and maps enhanced the lecture. Since I had visited a few of the sites that were discussed, this really meant more to me and I appreciate what I saw years ago. I watched the recording to ensure that I did not miss any facts!!
Dr. Kosmopoulos gave us a tour through the history of aqueducts and fountains of Rome that was enjoyable, full of fun facts and absorbing. Delightful 90 minutes. I have been to the Trevi Fountain before, but now I will know so much more about it! Other very interesting tips of places in Rome to see waterworks from antiquity. Grazie
This was one of the best Context talks I have taken. Completely fascinating and Dr. Dimi does such an outstanding job of keeping you interested, and at the same time, teaching so much information!! Outstanding
Dr. Dino is the best story teller making any piece of history interesting and alive.
My first "conversation" with Context and I was not disappointed! The seminar was clear, informative, well documented and illustrated. I can't wait to get to Rome and see these sited in person. Thank you!
