This webinar will take you on a stroll along the Santiago Way, Europe's great pilgrimage trail. The Way is over a thousand years old, and in the medieval period, a journey along it to the city of Santiago de Compostela was one of the three classic Christian pilgrimages, ranking after only Jerusalem and Rome.
The most walked part of the trail today, the Camino Francês or French Route, runs from the Pyrenees to the tomb of St James in Santiago. It leads walkers through the farmland and forests of northern Spain, traversing the cathedral cities of Pamplona, Burgos, and Leon, as well as hundreds of less well-known towns and villages, many of which retain much of their medieval character. Although the Camino Frances is only a part of the vast network of walking trails that is the Santiago Way, leading to Santiago from the Baltic and the Mediterranean, from Brussels and Budapest, it is for many people the heart of this great walking pilgrimage.
Find out how the pilgrimage began, see some of its outstanding monuments, and discover a little about the modern experience of walking the Camino (without the blisters, of course).

Almost as Good as Walking the Camino!

We thoroughly enjoyed David’s presentation - great pictures and extensive knowledge. Having walked the French Camino two years ago, this was a lovely stroll down memory lane.

I found Hosking's narrative to be warm, not condescending and "down to earth". Very well received.
