from 20587 reviewsThis course is a very good résumé of the lives of East Germans. The professor uses very interesting statistics, examples and personal stories to explain her point. I recommend strongly this course.

Dr. Charles Higham gives us a picture of where we came from - out of Africa and that this story is getting more complicated as we study our coming to be homo erectus/homo sapiens.
A very informative talk, jam-packed with new ideas and unfamiliar works of architecture and painting. Sabry's irreplaceable as an art historian and lecturer.
Once again an excellent talk by Sabry.
A really outstanding and fascinating 90 minute overview of Manet's mysterious life and some of the clues behind some of his beautiful paintings.
Sabry’s seminars are never dull, but this one was thrilling. Manet’s life and art are fascinating. Sabry highlighted the varied subjects, technique, and reflection of modern life in a selection of paintings—using high resolution images and pointing out strengths of museums. A brief recap at the end of the pro and con arguments for Manet as the father of modern art would be useful.
Clear exegesis of the evolving multifaceted history of Venice.
Dr. Madden takes some deep dives into the history of Venice. It’s a complex city and he lifts the layers of its history and shines in a bright light. I was especially impressed with his reveal of the relationship of the city’s business backbone and its role in the Crusades.
Excellent
Very interesting and well-presented information, presentation was insightful
Wonderful, informative, eye-opening
An excellent description of the making of an item that seems foreign and difficult, but is really quite simple.
Dr. Stasiowski packs a lot in! I learned so much more about Invisible Cities, which I had read before, and about other utopian visions and related topics that were new to me. She is a font of knowledge as well as being organized and entertaining. Her courses are a very efficient was to learn about any topic she covers.
