This was an excellent, informative and entertaining series of lectures. The presenter, Livia Galante, spoke with obvious knowledge of her subject taking time to explain terms with words and wonderful diagrams. She spoke with an engaging enthusiasm which pulled me completely into her lectures.
Livia did an amazing job of conveying a complex topic. I learned so much in three days! The course brings together many topics that I previously only had superficial knowledge of. I I am very ready to return to Rome to see in person again.
Truly loved the course on Roman Technology! As an engineer myself, I know how challenging the math is around buildings, aqueducts, and roads. It’s amazing what the Roman engineers were able to accomplish.
Livia Galante knocks it out of the park with this course. She is a superb presenter, with deep expertise, passion for what she teaches, even and infectious joy regarding the wonders of Roman technology and innovation. Her slides are among the best I have seen in any Context course or seminar. I learned so much and each session was so enjoyable that I didn't want them to end. I would have happily continued on if this had been a six-session course instead of a three-session course. It's that brilliant.
I regret that today's lecture is the last of Livia's trilogy on vital facets of life in Ancient Rome. Her command of the history and the technology (today it was building construction) is superb, and she delivers her information with great style.
