The largest-ever Vermeer exhibition closed on June 4th. This exhibition was remarkably popular, selling out in a matter of days, and received rave reviews. After visiting the unique Vermeer exhibit circa 50 times and discussing Vermeer's painting with learners and fellow experts both online and in-person, art historian Alette Fleischer feels the necessity of sharing her concluding findings with you. In this seminar, we will visit the spectacular exhibit one last time. What more have we learned about Vermeer the last months? Did you visit the Rijksmuseum in person? Have you attended Alette's previous webinar on the exhibition? Let's come together and revisit all the 27 paintings at the museum - a final farewell to Vermeer.

Led by Dr. Alette Fleischer, an expert on 17th-century Dutch art and culture, and a native from Amsterdam, this lecture will dive into the wildly popular Vermeer exhibit once more. Designed to inform curiosity as well as future travels, participants will come away with an even deeper understanding of Vermeer's work.

Amsterdam-born Alette Fleischer has a degree in Art History and a PhD in 17th Dutch History, focusing on gardens, science, and technology. She has curated several exhibitions, publishes articles, presents lectures, and a proud Context Expert. For Context Travel, Alette has led the Rijksmuseum tours many times. Motto: staying curious is key for being a good historian.

Once again, Dr. Fleischer has presented a great review of her experiences at the Vermeer Exhibition and what is still at issue or being researched. She presented several interesting points about the paintings which I had not noticed when I was there in April, probably because there were many many visitors at the exhibition and I could not get close enough. She also answered my question, which I appreciated. I have enjoyed her many other lectures and look forward to enjoying others in the future. By the way, I had watched her presentation of the Vermeer Exhibition before I went to see it and found both the presentation and the other materials really helpful to my understanding of a delightful exhibition.
